Katie brings a wealth of experience to the Starboard Group's clients. Prior to co-founding the firm, Katie established a track record of executing successful political and fundraising campaigns.
With nearly a decade of experience working in Colorado politics, Katie's experience ranges from contested U.S. Senate races, competitive Congressional challengers to local races across the state. Having served in various roles Katie has had the privilege of working with Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton, Congressman Cory Gardner, Congressman Mike Coffman, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers, Majority Leader Mark Hillman, Aurora Mayor Ed Tauer, U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell and former Colorado Governor Bill Owens.
In addition to experience in local, state and federal races, Katie has a strong background in messaging and press relations. Having served as U.S. Senate candidate Pete Coors' deputy Press Secretary, she was responsible for assisting with the campaign message and press coverage. Katie has also worked for a variety of corporate and association clients in her previous role as Associate at Phase Line Strategies, a public affairs firm. At Phase Line, Katie was responsible for managing client services as well as soliciting new business.
A native Coloradan, Katie is passionate about giving back to the community. She currently serves on various non-profit committees in the Denver area, including Denver Museum of Nature & Science Museum After Dark and First American State Bank Fitness Committee. Katie is a graduate of the University of Colorado and resides in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

In 2008, Ms. Strohm co-founded the Starboard Group. Immediately prior to starting her own business, Ms. Strohm served as the Director of Development for the Metro Denver Sports Commission, a non-profit organization with a mission of bidding and attracting premier sporting events to the Metro Denver area. Ms. Strohm brings the company great experience and knowledge of both the non-profit and political sectors.
With Starboard, Ms. Strohm has managed a variety of clients ranging from fundraising for political campaigns to non-profit board development. Her area of expertise is in fundraising for the soft-money and non-profit sectors. Ms. Strohm helped found Common Sense Policy Roundtable, a Starboard client, that is a non-profit free-enterprise think tank dedicated to the protection and promotion of Colorado's economy. In addition, while with Starboard Ms. Strohm has helped raise over $700,000 in 2010 and $900,000 in 2011, respectively for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Actively involved in the Denver community, Ms. Strohm brings the Starboard Group a vast knowledge of not only the Metro Denver area, but also local businesses, foundations and non-profits. As a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Impact Denver Class of 2008, she also is currently involved as a committee member with such events and organizations such as: Step Up for Cancer and Museum After Dark. Ms. Strohm is a co-founder of Denver Karma, a website resource designed to raise awareness among young professional regarding the importance of service, as well as providing them with opportunities for service. She is also founder of the Tri Delta Leadership Scholarship at her alma mater, Coe College. Ms. Strohm is a board member of the Strohm-Link Family Foundation and the Women's Bean Project, where she is the current Board Chair.
Ms. Strohm holds an undergraduate degree in history and Spanish from Coe College, where she was a Rhodes Scholar Finalist and Student Body President. She also has her M.B.A. from the University of Denver. Ms. Strohm and her Bernese Mountain Dog, Papi, make their home in Denver, Colorado.

Laura Leprino joined the Starboard Group as an Advisor in 2009. With 32 years of experience, Laura is a proven successful community leader in the business community and as a political activist.
Throughout her career, Laura has been involved in banking and business development including serving as Vice President of Marketing at the First National Banks and a Principal with a Colorado based general contracting firm. While Laura has noted accomplishments as a business woman, her avocation is politics.
Most recently, Laura served as Director of Special Events for former Congressman Bob Beauprez in his 2004 congressional campaign and his 2006 gubernatorial campaign. During this time, she took on the responsibility of fundraising, major event planning and cultivating donor and volunteer relations. Additionally, Laura played a pivotal role in Congressman Beauprez' congressional district office as the Special Events Coordinator organizing events for the Congressman's policy advisory committees and constituent focus groups.
Laura has been involved in several Colorado charitable organizations including serving as a Board Member for the Red Rocks Community College Foundation Board.
Laura resides with her husband, George Feeney, in Wheat Ridge.

Lorena Brauer joined the Starboard Group in January of 2012 as Starboard Group's office manager and executive assistant to the managing partners. Mrs. Brauer manages the daily operations of the firm as well as logistical and administrative support.
She brings with her experience in managing and running of her own small business as well as the success of being a office manager for a successful healthcare office.
In the past, she has volunteered for numerous non-profit organizations related to schools and youth organizations.

Cassandra Ersland joined the Starboard Group as an Associate in December 2010. Prior to joining the Starboard Group, Cassandra was employed by Premiere Radio Networks in Dallas, Texas, as a Sales Assistant. She has also worked with Furniture Row Marketing as a Media Coordinator and Clear Channel Radio as a Promotions Assistant.
Cassandra devotes her time to a number of non-profit organizations. She is currently Chair for Kempe Champs, a young professional groupsupporting the mission of The Kempe Foundation. Cassandra also serves on the young professional committee for Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation’s Kaleidoscope Ball. Past non-profit involvement includes: Denver SafeHouse, Dallas Habitat for Humanity, Hopes Door, Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, Oklahoma Food Bank, Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, and Women's Service Center and Family Resources Center.
Cassandra graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications as well as a Minor in Business Marketing.

Nissa Szabo joined the Starboard Group as an intern in February 2011 and May 2011 was hired as a part-time employee. Nissa is currently a senior at the Metropolitan State College of Denver where she is finishing a degree in Speech Communications, with a minor in Public Relations. Prior to interning at the Starboard Group, Nissa served as a Legislative Aide at the Colorado House of Representatives for House Speaker Frank McNulty. Nissa has previous experience working on campaigns. In 2010, Nissa served as the campaign coordinator for the successful campaign, Libby Szabo for House District 27. A native Coloradan, Nissa is passionate about soccer and the outdoors. Nissa resides in Arvada, Colorado.

Cooper Anderson joined the Starboard Group in 2011. Prior to working with the Starboard Group, Cooper was an intern for U.S. Representative Cory Gardner in the Fort Collins district office.
Cooper graduated from Colorado State University in 2011, with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Agricultural Business. During his senior year, Cooper served as student body president and as an ex-officio member on the Board of Governors of the Colorado. His main accomplishments while in student government were creating a small student fee for resources for survivors of sexual assault and providing education about sexual assault on campus, as well as defending a student’s right to legally carry a concealed weapon for self defense. He also held various other leadership positions on campus. A native to Colorado, Cooper currently resides in Eaton, Colorado.
